Colour on a screen is a guess. Colour in your hand, on your site, in Canadian light, is a decision. Samples are paid, they ship from Vaughan, Ontario in 5 to 10 business days, and what you spend on them is credited against your project order.

Sample cost is credited against your project order. Samples are not free: we would rather charge five dollars and ship a real piece of board than mail out a plastic keyring.
What to do with the sample once it arrives
- Look at it where the deck will be. Not on a desk. Canadian light is cooler and lower than the Mediterranean light these colours were photographed in, and greys in particular shift.
- Look at it three times in a day. Morning, midday and dusk. A colour that reads warm at noon can read grey at six.
- Hold it against the permanent things. Brick, stone, roof, window frames. Not the patio furniture, which you will replace.
- Leave it out in the rain. See how the colour and the slip texture change when wet. Class 3 slip resistance (UNE-ENV 12633) is measured; how it feels is yours to judge.
- Compare finishes, not just colours. The same colour in Tecno, Nature and Surco is three different decks. Read the finish guide first.
- Think about heat. Dark boards get hot in sun, as every dark surface does. Solar reflectance above 80 was measured on a white sample (Tecnalia 082062-002, ASTM E1980); dark colours reflect much less.
- Check the profile too. Hollow or solid changes weight, dent resistance and cost. See the profile comparison.
- Then get the quote in. Boards are import-to-order with an 8 to 12 week lead time, so colour sign-off is the gate on the schedule.

Sample FAQ
Are the samples free?
No. A chip is five dollars, a 12 inch board sample is fourteen, and the 31-colour Designer Kit is fifty-four fifty, in CAD. What you pay for samples is credited against your project order, so if you go ahead the samples effectively cost nothing.
How long do samples take to arrive?
Five to ten business days anywhere in Canada. They ship from Vaughan, Ontario. Full boards are a different matter: they are made and shipped to order from Valencia, so plan on 8 to 12 weeks.
Can I get every colour?
Yes, in the Designer Kit, which contains all 31 Canadian colours across the Chromatic, Wood and Ethnic collections. If you only need a few, order individual chips and compare those.
Will the sample match the boards exactly?
It is cut from production board, so it is representative rather than a printed swatch. As with any extruded material there is small variation between production runs, which is one more reason to order all of a project's boards, fascia and trims in one go.
