Finishing the perimeter, and keeping it
The difference between a deck that looks built and a deck that looks specified is almost entirely at the edge. Fascia, end caps and corner profiles close the perimeter in the same colour as the boards, so no substructure, no board void and no cut end is ever on view.
Edge and trim components
Dimensions from the 2025 Tarifa. Fascia and corner profiles are supplied in the board colours so the perimeter matches the deck rather than approximating it.
Fascia profile, 180 x 10 mm
The finishing or skirting profile that closes the visible side of the deck. Supplied in 3,000 mm lengths with six colour-matched screws per length.

End caps
Hollow boards are closed at the cut end with a matching cap. It keeps debris, insects and standing water out of the voids and gives the board end a finished line.

Corner profile, 32 x 32 mm
The exterior corner piece, 32 x 32 x 3,000 mm, closes an external angle where two fascia runs meet, or where the deck turns up against a step or planter.

How much perimeter do you need?
Quantity guidance
- Fascia: measure the exposed perimeter in linear metres, then add cutting allowance for corners.
- End caps: one per exposed hollow board end. A 4 m wide deck laid on 150 mm boards has roughly 27 board ends per exposed edge.
- Corner profile: one length per external angle, 3,000 mm per length.
- Fascia screws are supplied at six per 3,000 mm length.
- Leave the expansion and ventilation gaps called for in the technical manual. Do not seal the perimeter shut.
Detailing notes
- The fascia is a trim, not a structural edge. It is fixed to the aluminium frame, not used to carry it.
- Keep an air path behind the fascia so the underside of the deck still ventilates.
- At a pool coping or a stone threshold, set the fascia back so the coping reads as the edge.
- Order fascia, caps and corners with the boards. Colour is matched at the extrusion run, so a later top-up order may not match exactly.
Cleaning and care products
Tarimatec is not painted, stained or sealed, and it should not be. It carries no wood flour, so there is nothing in it to feed mould or soft rot (UNE-ENV 12038, CEN/TS 15083-2), and routine care is genuinely routine.

Never paint, stain or seal composite decking with a coating not supplied for it: coatings peel and can affect the manufacturer warranty. The full cleaning and care instructions are in the technical pack. The 25-year warranty is Tarimatec's manufacturer warranty, administered in Canada by Zinodeck, and excludes damage from weight overload.
